Faithfulness, Our Greatest Need

What I’m learning at the close of this time of fasting…

Fasting isn’t about getting what you want; it’s about getting what you need.

Sometimes we enter it with certain expectations, desires; maybe those work out, maybe now or later. Sometimes, too, we’re put in situations we never considered and would never ever ask for. But nothing surprises God and He is always faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

Fasting times draw us nearer to Him regardless and that’s always best for us; whether we are crying in anguish or praising heartily, questioning ‘why this’ or overflowing with gratitude, He is where we need to be. God is our greatest need and He liberally gave all of Himself to us for all our need through the gift of Christ who is more than enough for every minute, every hour, every day.

And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:19 AMPC

to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. ~Ephesians 3:19‭-‬21 NKJV

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah ~Psalms 46:10‭-‬11 NKJV
