Good Works Faithfully Completed (prayer letter)

…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

Philippians 1:6

This verse came to mind today as I prayed for you.
I know these last few years have been… well, there really aren’t adequate words. The hardest things you’ve ever done, path you’ve endured, frustration you’ve sighed, darkness you’ve been weighed down with, unknowns you’ve questioned, hurt you’ve cried through. I can’t truthfully say I understand; at best, my view has been as through a murky window. But I love you so much and am always in awe of your standing and fighting and living!

I know your Jesus and I believe all His truth over you and am witness to His supernatural healing and favor and blessing and provision and hope and light, the bright light you are living in now. It is in Him you live, in Him you move, and in Him you have your being after all! I am especially believing and speaking Philippians 1:6 over and for you; I’m sure it’s crazy tough in the daily minutes, in wondering why and how long and what’s it all been for. But as true as by the wounds of Jesus Christ you were healed and He sent His word and healed us and delivered us from our destructions and He has delivered us from the power of darkness and no weapon formed against us ever prevails and God loved us so much He sent His son to love and die for us are reality truth, so too I know as truth that the good work He has started and is active in, He is faithful to continue and complete until the day of Jesus Christ. He started something in you and has no plans to quit; you’re in His hands, you are His business! But I get it, on the days you may wonder why, when you just can’t see what He must see; I do that too.

Are there things you’re believing God for in others’ lives? Do you see God working on their behalf? Can you admit with honesty that God loves them? Do you believe the scriptures you are speaking into their lives are true and active and accomplishing what they promise they will? Then you must believe the same for God in your life too! He loves you, He is active in you, on your behalf. God shows no partiality; who He is for others, He is for you; the conviction and assurance you have in your belief for His work in others, He is just as surely present and active in you. It might not look the same or may not even be evident yet, but God is faithful and trustworthy; He doesn’t leave anything half-done, He doesn’t lose interest or get discouraged and walk away. You are always held and always treasured by the One who authored what held and treasured truly mean!

Don’t quit! Don’t give in! Don’t think there’s nothing left. There’s still abundant joy in your life in Him. His word says:

  1. Times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
  2. In His presence, joy gets filled back up; His joy becomes your joy. (Psalm 16:11)
  3. His joy is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

Presence, refreshing, joy, strength—all ours, by promise!
And even more according to Paul—hope, joy again, peace, overflowing, confidence, power—through the Holy Spirit:
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 NLT)

You’re here. God made you. All His works are wonderful! God isn’t finished.
